Renault India is ramping up its EV ambitions: a camouflaged test mule of the Kwid EV was recently spotted near Chennai airport, now on its own wheels and showing off key features like Y‑shaped tail lamps, rear wiper, and steel wheels.
This electric hatchback is expected to closely mirror its European cousin, the Dacia Spring EV (sold globally since 2023).
Under its skin is a 26.8 kWh lithium‑ion battery, coupled with two motor options:
Standard: ~44 bhp paired with a claimed range of 200–220 km
Upgraded: ~64 bhp, with quicker acceleration and similar range
